The Central Scheduler works closely with patients, healthcare providers, and other departments to enhance operational efficiency and ensure a seamless patient scheduling experience.Essential Functions<ul><li>Coordinates and schedules patient appointments across multiple departments, including diagnostic tests, procedures, and specialist consultations.</li><li>Ensures appointments are scheduled based on provider availability, patient needs, and clinical urgency while optimizing facility resources.</li><li>Accurately inputs patient information and appointment details into the hospital's electronic scheduling system or EMR (Electronic Medical Records).</li><li>Works closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure appointments align with clinical priorities and medical requirements.</li><li>Pre-registers scheduled patients and provides accurate preparation instructions for diagnostic tests.</li><li>Verifies the medical necessity of scheduled tests for Medicare patients and ensures compliance with payer requirements.</li><li>Refers uninsured and underinsured patients to financial assistance programs as appropriate.</li><li>Reviews and verifies personal and insurance information for pre-certification orders, including CPT and ICD codes, obtaining clinical details from physicians as needed.</li><li>Contacts insurance companies to secure prior authorization and logs all pre-certification orders in tracking systems and SOAP notes when necessary.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li><li>Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</li><li>Complies with all policies and standards.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Coursework or certification in Healthcare Administration, Medical Office Management, or related fields preferred</li><li>0-1 years of experience in scheduling, administrative, or customer service roles, preferably in a healthcare setting required</li><li>1-2 years experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or scheduling software preferred</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<ul><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.</li><li>Ability to handle high volumes of scheduling requests in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and scheduling or EMR software.</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.</li></ul>

As a Real-time Scheduler, you'll be responsible for the coordination of all on shift requests for Space Network (SN) segment resources from customers and will schedule SN segment resources based on customer requests and resource availability. You will need to coordinate all conflict resolution with customers, based on FDF requirements, schedule Bi-Lateral Ranging and Tracking Supports (BRTS), and monitor customer scheduling activities to ensure configurations are compatible with support requirements.

Responsibilities:
Peraton has an opening for a Space Network Real-time Scheduler in Las Cru, NM.  As a Real-time Scheduler, you'll be responsible for the coordination of all on shift requests for Space Network (SN) segment resources from customers and will schedule SN segment resources based on customer requests and resource availability. You'll also perform and assist in conflict resolution with customers and disseminate schedules to the SN and other support elements.  You will need to coordinate all conflict resolution with customers, based on FDF requirements, schedule Bi-Lateral Ranging and Tracking Supports (BRTS), and monitor customer scheduling activities to ensure configurations are compatible with support requirements. This position will be responsible for the following: <ul><li>Prioritize and coordinate customer requests for Space Network resources to meet spacecraft mission requirements, network testing activities and demand maintenance requirements.</li><li>Perform conflict resolution with the customer community and coordinate support with NASA ground stations and TDRSS to ensure mission objectives are met.</li><li>Perform real-time conflict resolution with the customer community and coordinate support with NASA ground stations and TDRSS to produce a forecast schedule.</li><li>Communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with the customer community to resolve conflict situations. </li><li>Read and understand network briefing messages and fulfill the Forecast scheduler's role during routine and critical activities.</li><li>Responsible for training and certification of new Forecast Scheduling Operators.</li><li>Participates in procedural development from concept to final technical critique. </li><li>Supports the Ground Network in accordance with agreed upon parameters between the company and union to ensure emergency and other required activities are scheduled and supported. </li><li>Monitors customer's Demand Access System (DAS) scheduling and can modify the DAS events to minimize data loss or reschedule to TDRS legacy events when customers are unavailable to schedule. </li><li>Ensures SHOs are accepted at the ground terminals as well as at the SNG and WDISC.</li><li>Notifies the On-Call GN Scheduler and any NEN users that will be impacted when a GN STAT is issued declaring a ground site RED.</li><li>Performs other duties, as assigned.</li></ul> 

Qualifications:
Required Experience <ul><li>You have a High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and 2-4 years of related experience.</li><li>You have 2 years of technical training (4 years of related experience can be substituted for 2 years of technical training).</li><li>1 year experience with scheduling resources.</li><li>1 year experience with working with satellite ground station operations.</li><li>Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime, on a rotational basis as a part of normal shift scheduling. </li><li>Security clearance -  this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship. An interim Secret clearance is acceptable to start.</li><li>Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.</li><li>This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. As a federal enclave, membership of the union is required.</li><li>Ability to assimilate data quickly, concisely and consistently.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication, and coordination skills.</li><li>You can effectively communicate and network with customers to allocate appropriate resources.</li><li>Know to how to use a desktop computer and computer software such as MS windows. </li><li>You have strong problem solving skills and can work in a very dynamic environment.</li></ul> Desired Experience <ul><li>An active Secret security clearance,</li><li>Prior experience working in NASA Ground or Space Network.</li><li>1 year experience with working with satellite ground station operations.</li><li>An aptitude and understanding of IP networks and networking</li><li>Motivated, safety minded, and demonstrate a team attitude.</li><li>Able to work well under pressure.</li></ul> #SpaceIntel

The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
