This role ensures the effective integration of demand and supply to achieve high levels of customer service, support revenue objectives, and maintain targeted inventory performance. The position plays a key role in balancing short-term execution with long-term planning by analyzing demand trends, monitoring production performance, and proactively adjusting schedules to meet changing business needs. The Production Planner / Master Scheduler collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to resolve constraints and ensure on-time delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer forecasts, sales orders, capacity, and lead times </li><li>Convert forecasts and sales orders into actionable production plans and build schedules </li><li>Review material availability and production capacity to create feasible and efficient schedules </li><li>Analyze customer demand data to support both short-term execution and long-term capacity planning </li><li>Monitor production schedules and make adjustments to meet customer demand, including recommending overtime or reallocation of manpower </li><li>Manage schedule changes to accommodate short lead-time orders, including creation of manual shop orders when required </li><li>Coordinate with Customer Service and production support teams to reallocate on-hand inventory for shared components </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Shipping, Processing, Engineering, and Quality) to resolve delivery risks and production issues </li><li>Maintain and update key planning parameters within the ERP/MRP system (e.g., lead times, safety stock, order quantities) </li></ul>Key Competencies (Optional but Recommended)<ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration </li><li>High attention to detail and organizational skills </li><li>Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and data analysis tools</li></ul><table class="MsoTableGrid" style="border-collapse:collapse;border:none"><tbody><tr><td style="border-bottom:1px solid #000000;width:133px;padding:0in 7px 0in 7px;height:19px;border-top:1px solid #000000;border-right:1px solid #000000;border-left:1px solid #000000">Education and Experience:</td><td style="border-bottom:1px solid #000000;width:567px;padding:0in 7px 0in 7px;height:19px;border-top:1px solid #000000;border-right:1px solid #000000;border-left:none">Bachelor’s Degree with 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Schedules radiology appointments, including imaging procedures and any related follow-up care.</li><li>Coordinates scheduling for outpatient and hospital-based imaging services.</li><li>Arranges any required assistance or special accommodations for specific imaging procedures.</li><li>Obtains prior authorizations and ensures patients complete all required office/hospital/facility forms.</li><li>Ensures all patients receive preparation instructions for imaging procedures and documents this in their chart.</li><li>Reviews recall lists monthly and schedules patients for follow-up imaging as needed.</li><li>Handles phone calls from patients/family members regarding scheduled imaging appointments.</li><li>Maintains accurate provider and department schedules for all imaging procedures.</li><li>When scheduling procedures, communicates any special equipment or personnel needs, including coordination with vendors if applicable.</li><li>Obtains required labs and prior imaging studies per protocol and ensures readiness for scheduled procedures.</li><li>Maintains up-to-date scheduling records, including accurate entry into Epic.</li><li>Documents informative messages for providers utilizing the EMR system per departmental protocols.</li><li>Ensures adequate supplies and materials are available to support scheduling workflow.</li><li>Verifies demographic and insurance information when scheduling procedures.</li><li>Reinforces instructions and provides general explanations of imaging procedures per protocol.</li><li>Works with the Practice Manager to optimize scheduling templates and provider availability.</li><li>Exhibits the attitudes and behaviors consistent with The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
Education/Certification/License:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent is required.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>Previous experience in scheduling is preferred. Must have prior computer experience. Position requires constant and frequent judgment and response. Must have excellent communication and grammar skills. Must be detail oriented. Must have good follow through, be able to multi-task, and possess sound judgment.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Obtains insurance pre-certification for all office procedures, medications, infusions, injections, surgery, diagnostic testing, DME, imaging, and medications.  </li><li>Performs timely documentation of status work in applicable electronic platform.</li><li>Schedules patient procedures and/or tests with appropriate departments including involved parties.</li><li>Obtains referrals as necessary.</li><li>Ensures patients are informed of scheduled tests/procedures and insurance requirements prior to completion.</li><li>Assists in benefit verification with patient insurance company so patient knows ahead of time what they will be financially responsible for, where applicable.</li><li>Coordinates precertification and authorization processes with scheduling staff so appointments can be made in a timely manner.</li><li>Obtains any and all pertinent clinical health information to process authorizations, referrals, and precertifications.</li><li>Reinforces instructions and explanations of tests/procedures to patients per protocol.</li><li>Documents all pre-certifications/authorizations in appropriate electronic platform.</li><li>Verifies demographic information, including insurance when scheduling and/or obtaining pre-cert. </li><li>Handles phone calls from patients regarding their insurance requirements for tests/procedures if applicable.</li><li>Compiles necessary reports regarding pre-certification.</li><li>Communicates with Business Office regarding verification of complex insurance and precertification requirements.</li><li>Maintains good working relationships with all contacts.  </li><li>Utilizes up-to-date coding information.</li><li>Takes initiative to seek out tasks and duties or to assist others as necessary</li><li>Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.</li><li>Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.</li><li>Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.</li></ul>
