This position will help to mentor and train less experienced co-workers and operations employees. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.<ul><li>Autonomy & Decision-Making: Makes most decisions and consults with supervisor as needed.</li><li>Career Path: Planning & Scheduling Manager</li></ul>Key Role Responsibilities - CoreSCHEDULER FAMILY - CORE<ul><li>Prepares, builds and updates project schedules collaboratively with the project team.</li><li>Performs schedule reviews to ensure effective and efficient best practices for scheduling are utilized. Diplomatically communicates review comments to the project team.</li><li>Participates in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the creation of proposal schedules, baseline schedule and ongoing schedule updates.</li><li>Utilizes working knowledge of JE Dunn scheduling software.</li><li>Assists with and performs training for JE Dunn operations. Assists with training content and course preparation for training delivered by the group.</li><li>Assists with the development of best practices for JE Dunn planning and scheduling efforts.</li><li>Visits job sites regularly to review job status and applies construction sequencing knowledge to accurately update the project schedule for assigned projects.</li><li>May attend project related meetings and/or jobsite-specific meetings where emphasis on schedule is discussed.</li><li>Supports Lean and Pull Planning sessions by ensuring CPM schedule is aligned with pull plan results.</li><li>Supports the preparation of a variety of reports as required for assigned projects.</li><li>Adds resource loading and cost loading, when required, to schedules collaboratively created with the project teams.</li><li>Provides planning and scheduling support to operations, marketing and other IPS functions as directed.</li><li>Understands that market and regional information are a part of project schedules such as: seasonal weather patterns, materials markets, labor forces and other factors that may impact each project schedule.</li><li>Participates in pursuit opportunities with business development and the project team.</li></ul>Key Role Responsibilities - Additional CoreSENIOR SCHEDULERIn addition, this position will be responsible for the following:<ul><li>Develops and facilitates planning and scheduling training programs for internal team members including content creation and implementation planning.</li><li>Leads project teams in assessing sequencing and methods of construction, project delays and impacts, alternate work plans, and recovery schedules.</li><li>Leads planning and scheduling group best practice and process development efforts.</li><li>Develops and maintains a library of standard project schedule templates for internal use as a starting point.</li><li>Participates in pursuit opportunities, including interviews and external client meetings during the pursuit phase.</li><li>Supports project teams to coordinate with trade partners' schedule issues and recovery schedules.</li><li>Participates and provides feedback in job pre-planning meetings, post construction meetings, and monthly project status review meetings.</li><li>Mentors, manages and coaches a direct report (if applicable).</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities<ul><li>Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner</li><li>Communication skills, verbal and written - Advanced</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office - Advanced</li><li>Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications - Advanced</li><li>Ability to recognize, during job site visits, where there are schedule sequencing areas of concern and where sequencing improvements can occur - Advanced</li><li>Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management regarding commercial construction project types and delivery methods</li><li>Knowledge of scheduling software and implementation</li><li>Knowledge of most types of construction projects and delivery methods - Advanced</li><li>Knowledge of work activity sequencing, activity durations, scheduling concepts and best practices, with the ability to communicate opportunities for improvement - Advanced</li><li>Proficiency in scheduling software - Advanced</li><li>Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy - Intermediate</li><li>Ability to maintain or exceed required reimbursability and ensure direct reports can do the same</li><li>Ability to effectively deal with Change Management delays and claims (compensable and non-compensable, excusable and non-excusable, etc.)</li><li>Ability to lead and facilitate Pull Planning sessions, as required by project support needs</li><li>Ability to provide performance management feedback and complete evaluations</li><li>Ability to import schedules into JE Dunn's standard scheduling software</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with team members</li><li>Ability to effectively collaborate as a team, both internally and externally</li></ul>Education<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)</li><li>In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>5+ years planning and scheduling experience (Preferred)</li></ul>Working Environment<ul><li>Valid and unrestricted drivers license required</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds</li><li>May require periods of travel and/or relocation</li><li>Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs</li><li>Normal office environment, but may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)</li><li>Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen</li><li>Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Climbing, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling</li></ul>Benefits InformationThe benefits package aligned to this position is Professional Non-Union.
