<p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p><div><div><p>OR Scheduler</p><p>The NEXus Pain Center has an opening for Operating Room Scheduler. This position will be part of a team that works to provide the highest quality care and services to our patients. The weekly work schedule is from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Fridays are from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm. We are a fast paced and growing pain management clinic and surgery center with five locations in Georgia. Our growth can be attributed to our team and their dedication to quality care they provide.</p><p>Duties</p><p>· Schedule diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures for all surgical patients and visits with medical personnel</p><p>· Operate scheduling programs: EClinical Works and Amkai</p><p>· Compile Patient records, procedure orders and consent to ensure they are valid within a 30-day time period</p><p>· Obtain and evaluate patients’ profiles for upcoming visits and resolve scheduling conflicts</p><p>· Work along side with specialist surgeons about schedules, patients and any changes</p><p>· Answer phone calls and emails, greeting patients and prospective patients and reminding them of upcoming appointments</p><p>· Perform patient intake, including the completion and filling of all necessary records</p><p>· Schedule staff coverage in order to ensure the company’s best operations standard</p><p>· Produce and process schedules and reports as they are requested by administrative staff, customers and clients</p><p>Actions</p><p>· Extracts patient demographic data from surgical information sheets and inputs into operating room information system</p><p>· Obtains preliminary operating room scheduling information from clinical and surgical services and enters into scheduling system according to the system coding requirements</p><p>· Monitors tentative schedules for missing service appointments and contacts appropriate service to confirm or resolve</p><p>· Works with management to make any monthly adjustments to the schedule and communicates changes to surgeons’ offices and others, as appropriate</p><p>· Determines the order in which the patients are scheduled, by reviewing procedures, time needed, and schedules inpatients in accordance with Operating Room guidelines</p><p>· Posts add-on cases and emergency cases to scheduling system as required; reviews waitlist and schedules cases as rooms become available</p><p>· Prints preliminary and final schedules for operating rooms on a daily basis, forwards final schedule to shared drive, and makes copies and distributes as appropriate</p><p>· Adjust operating room schedule according to written guidelines and communicates changes to surgeon's offices and others as appropriate;</p><p>· Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments</p><p>· Accesses protected health information (PHI) in accordance with departmental assignments and guidelines defining levels of access (i.e., incidental vs. extensive)</p><p>· May perform other incidental tasks, as needed</p><p>The NEXus Pain Center is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
