Establishes effective rapport with students. Motivates students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for becoming a responsible citizen in accordance with each student's ability. <ul><li>Maintains order and discipline in his/her classroom. </li><li>Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal. </li><li>Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student group. </li><li>Strives to implement by instruction and action the school system's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. </li><li>Evaluates student progress on a regular basis. </li><li>Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, system policy, and administrative regulations. </li><li>Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy. </li><li>Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. </li><li>Attends and participates in faculty meetings and department meetings. </li><li>Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. </li><li>Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students. </li><li>Provides for his/her professional growth through an ongoing program of content related workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning. </li><li>Performs other duties as needed </li></ul>Physical Requirements: Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina and acuity are required to perform job responsibilities Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with evaluation procedures and Board policy Please Note: All candidates must submit to a background check.
