This role sits at the intersection of operations, process planning, and architecture — helping clients define how their facilities function before detailed design begins.You’ll focus on front-end planning and early design, translating operational workflows into efficient, compliant, and well-integrated facility layouts.<hr/><h2>What You’ll Do </h2><ul><li>Support programming workshops and client planning sessions by documenting requirements and translating them into space plans and adjacency diagrams.</li></ul><ul><li>Analyze operational workflows and help translate process narratives into spatial planning solutions.</li></ul><ul><li>Develop planning-driven layouts that integrate process flow, adjacencies, and operational strategy.</li></ul><ul><li>Assist with architectural elevations, visual studies, and renderings to communicate design intent.</li></ul><ul><li>Participate in feasibility studies, master planning efforts, and early design phases.</li></ul><ul><li>Support preliminary regulatory and cGMP planning considerations with guidance from senior team members.</li></ul><ul><li>Work across a variety of project types including:</li></ul><ul style="margin-left:40px"><li>Greenfield developments</li></ul><ul style="margin-left:40px"><li>Renovations and facility expansions</li></ul><ul style="margin-left:40px"><li>Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities</li></ul><ul style="margin-left:40px"><li>Laboratories and technical spaces</li></ul><ul style="margin-left:40px"><li>Offices and warehouse/distribution environments</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate closely with GBA’s in-house architects, engineers, and preconstruction professionals.</li></ul><ul><li>Conduct field investigations and assist with planning documentation.</li></ul><ul><li>Contribute across multiple projects simultaneously, typically through early design phases (~30%).</li></ul><hr/><h2>What You Bring </h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field.</li></ul><ul><li>8-12 years of experience in architecture, facility planning, or process-driven environments.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong interest in space planning, adjacency strategy, and early-phase project planning.</li></ul><ul><li>Exposure to regulated environments or life sciences design is a plus.</li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong collaboration and communication skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Interest in early-phase planning and client interaction is essential.</li></ul><hr/><h2>Physical Requirements & Work Environment </h2><ul><li>Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to sit, stand, and walk project sites for prolonged periods.</li></ul><ul><li>Must be able to travel to job sites occasionally (minimum once per month).</li></ul><hr/><h2>Why You’ll Love Working Here </h2>At GBA, you’ll work alongside talented professionals who share your passion for creating great things.
