Work under limited supervision in carrying out complex research assignments, performance of experiments and recording of results: creation, amplification, maintenance and quality control of recombinant adenovirus and adeno-associated virus vector stocks, tissue histology, Western blots, qPCR, RT-PCR, PCR, work with recombinant DNA including mutagenesis and recording of experimental results, growth and maintenance of cell cultures, preparation of reagents for experiments, may also assist in procedures on experimental animals. Perform lab management duties including ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, maintaining records of grant expenditures and purchases, developing and implementing institution-required safety plans, other regulatory obligations of the laboratory and other necessary paperwork, and supervision of other lab technicians.
