p>Cleans storm water lines; excavates, repairs and replace storm water lines and mains; operates hydro/jet truck and vactor truck to clean the storm drain system; inspect and clean City owned and privately owned storm drain basins, inlet boxes, manholes, oil/grit separators, canals, and pipes; operates Kubota tractor with brush-hog to groom roadway edges and swells; spray, cut, and remove weeds; trim shrubs and trees as necessary to maintain detention basins, ponds, and drainage channels. Frequently, tasks require a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain, related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting; daily potential for hazardous exposure to electrical shock, industrial wastes and raw sewage (containing pathogens such as typhoid, paratyphoid, dysentery, polio, tetanus, etc.); daily exposure to moving parts and equipment such as pumps, motors, heavy equipment, etc.
