<p>About the New York Athletic Club and the Winged Foot Day Camp:</p><p>The New York Athletic Club, one of the world's premier clubs, is seeking a Day Camp Director at the Travers Island property located in Pelham, NY.</p><p>The candidate for this position will be a part of, lead, and oversee the Winged Foot Day Camp team. The Winged Foot Day Camp is the perfect opportunity for children of members to gain a full camp experience, take advantage of the world class facilities at Travers Island, and create memories to last a lifetime. Campers will participate in several sports, creative arts, theme days, and off campus field trips.</p><p><strong>Job Description and Responsibilities</strong></p><p>• Oversee the daily operations of the Winged Foot Day Camp including staff schedules, camp schedule/activities, and field trips/vendors</p><p>• Assist the Manager of Youth Programs with promotion and planning of the Winged Foot Day Camp beginning in May 2024</p><p>• Ensure the Winged Foot Day Camp is compliant with the Westchester Department of Health and take lead on any visits</p><p>• Create a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment for campers</p><p>• Enforce safety rules and regulations of the Club</p><p>• Ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, be professional and maintain confidentiality in a fast paced and challenging work environment</p><p>• Handle crisis, emergency, behavioral and medical response as needed when issues come up at camp or in other childcare settings.</p><p>• Manage all customer contact, including responding to email and phone inquiries in a timely fashion, providing exceptional customer service, and handling sensitive and escalated matters for hundreds of prospective and attending camp families</p><p>• Be flexible to meet changing work needs and demands</p><p>• Must be on site</p><p>• Attend pre-camp training in June 2024</p><p>Qualifications</p><p>• Must be at least 21 years old</p><p>• Bachelor’s Degree in education, sports management or youth development preferred</p><p>• 24 weeks of previous administrative or supervisory experience at a camp</p><p>• Pass NYS and national background check</p><p>• Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification</p><p>• Transportation to and from Travers Island required</p><p>• Be available for office work 5 hours a week beginning in May 2024; 40 hours per week during June-August 2024</p><p>• Excellent communication skills and ability to work on a team</p><p>• Possess effective customer service skills</p><p>• Demonstrate responsible and professional conduct</p><p>• Be open to feedback and desire to grow professionally</p><p>• Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately</p><p> </p><p> </p><br/>Employment Type: Temp/Seasonal<br/>Years Experience: 1 - 3 years<br/>Salary: $24 - $25 Hourly<br/>Bonus/Commission: No
