serving as commander in emergency situations until relieved by superiors; initiating action, deploying staff, and notifying designated staff in emergencies such as an inmate disturbance, escape, or criminal activity; securing and maintaining chain of evidence in the event of criminal activity. PREA prohibits the Oregon Department of Corrections from hiring, promoting, or contracting with anyone, (that will have direct contact with residents), who has engaged in, been convicted of, or been civilly or administratively adjudicated for engaging in sexual abuse in confinement settings.
