Qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, and must successfully complete Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Title 37 training within one year of placement if without it at hire; possess at least three years' full-time corrections experience, with one year related supervisory experience; advanced knowledge of corrections methods, practices, principles, and techniques; moderate computer literacy in e-mail, Internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications; moderate math abilities; proficient interpersonal relations and communications skills (both written and verbal); proficient organizational skills; willingness to work at any time emergencies arise or circumstances merit; and reliable transportation and/or a clean MVR. This position is a member of management and functions as a mid-level manager to oversee responsibilities associated with department budget, employee relations, inmate control and custody, labor relations, operations, planning, policies/procedures, records retention, and staff scheduling and work assignments.
