Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: driving; standing and walking to work within jail population on different levels; climbing stairs; working with and around other detention staff, administrative staff, inmates and the public; dealing with interruptions; vision-acuity-near, needed for facility safety, computers, equipment, etc; hearing-ordinary conversation, speech-ordinary conversation, loud talking, and touch-finger dexterity needed for facility safety, computers, live scan, equipment, inmates, citizens, alarms, radio equipment and overhead paging, etc. Under limited supervision performs security work of routine difficulty in the supervision, care and welfare of inmates detained in the Jail facility; performs related work as assigned.
