This position also supports the continued operation of departmental laboratory instrumentation and related systems by diagnosing problems, repairing or rebuilding components, manufacturing obsolete or replacement parts, and maintaining equipment such as pumps, refrigeration systems, centrifuges, chillers, and other laboratory support devices. Produces custom components and assemblies for a range of research applications, including laser tables, mass spectrometer components, gloveboxes, shaker tables, superconducting magnet components, vacuum systems, prototype molds, optic mounts, custom stages, piping assemblies, and support structures.
