Possesses advanced knowledge of basic electrophysiology and electronics including amplifiers, filters, AC/DC circuits, chart recorders, volume conductor theory, transducer operations, generation of bio-potentials, magnetic tape recording of data, electronic manipulation, and transformation of data. Possesses knowledge of pathology including general body response to disease, differential diagnosis and treatment, upper airway disorders, nosology of sleep disorders, disorders of the lungs and cardiovascular system, nervous system disorders, endocrine and metabolic disorders, and disorders due to physical agents.
