The Bioanalytical and Biomarker Sciences and Technologies (BST) department at Takeda is seeking a strong scientific leader to join the group as a biomarker development or bioanalytical expert with experience in one or more technologies including immunoassay, cell-based assays, flow cytometry, LCMS, and/or genomics, to support the clinical development of novel therapeutics across a range of disease areas including oncology, immunology, gastrointestinal, neuroscience. Success in this role will be evaluated by the ability to build effective partnerships with relevant colleagues within BST and across Takeda, and align and deliver on BST deliverables with a focus on high-quality and timely delivery of biomarker and bioanalytical data for ongoing clinical trials.

Screen for miRNA, mRNA, and Protein biomarkers using high-plex multi-omics spatial transcriptomics platforms to identify disease-specific or common autoimmune biomarkers. After the internship, the intern is expected to be proficient in the high-plex multi-omic assay workflow, understand hypothesis-driven experiment design, and be able to share findings at Takeda's inter departmental meetings.

You will work with stakeholders within BST, PTS, and with partners across the business including Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Operations, Procurement, R&D and IT Quality, and Clinical Data Solutions to support clinical bioanalytical and biomarker scientific operations and logistics with external vendors thereby helping create high quality clinical data. A working knowledge of various analytical methods including ligand binding assays, LC/MS, qPCR, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry as well as a working knowledge of fit-for-purpose assay rigor (qualification, validation, etc) requirements needed to support clinical endpoints would be beneficial for success in role.

As a summer intern, the candidate will work on-site within the DMPK&M Translation Immunological Biomarkers Group (TIBM), supporting the enhancement and automation of the Quantitative Flow Cytometry (qFlow) platform for diverse preclinical modalities. This effort is crucial to provide data on expression levels and distribution, which is necessary to predict optimal dosing regimens, reduce off-target effects, and improve the therapeutic index of immunotherapies.
