Unit Info: Skill Set: Attend deliveries (vaginal and c/s) and assist with transition of the newborn, admitting neonates to NICU, discharging neonates, admitting newborns to NOU, discharging NOU newborns home, coordinate care with patient care team (NNP, MD, RN, Social services, RT, Radiology, OT, etc.), educate parents/update parents, assisting new mothers with breastfeeding. Required Skills: Placement of IVs in neonates, drawing labs, compassion, empathy and customer service skills, experienced level III NICU nurse, management of ventilators and central lines, administration of medications (IV, IM, SQ, ETT, OGT, NGT, orally, rectally, and/or topically, as well as instilling eye drops or ointment), & Blood administration.
