The Department Head will manage day-to-day operations of the department, supervise all programs offered by the department, develop course schedules, make faculty course assignments, supervise and evaluate departmental faculty and staff, manage the departmental budget, advise students, review and update departmental curricula, hire and supervise adjunct faculty, work toward the resolution of student complaints, serve on College committees, oversee planning and assessment activities, and perform other duties as assigned. Must be qualified by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) to teach in one of the following departmental disciplines: Education, Foreign Language, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, Anthropology, or Geography.
