The CPE Division is comprised of a diverse, dedicated team of Engineers, Engineering Technicians, Surveyors, and administrative support staff whose scope ultimately includes projects to rehabilitate, upgrade, and expand virtually all aspects of the City's infrastructure - from transportation projects and bridge projects (including the 101 pedestrian overpass), to facilities projects (including interior remodels, Emergency Operation Centers, fire stations, community centers), to creek restoration projects, to water and wastewater infrastructure projects, and everything in between. Knowledge of: Principles and practices of civil and structural engineering as applied to public works, utilities, or building construction projects; methods, materials and techniques used in the construction of public works, utilities or building construction projects; modern developments, current literature and sources of information regarding engineering; City engineering policies and procedures; and effective problem-solving techniques.
