PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT The frequent physical requirements of this position includ e: sitting, walking, standing,, bending/twisting, squatting/kneeling, repetitive motion of the hands/fingers (e.g., keyboarding, turning pages), fine manipulation with fingers, pinching with fingers, grasping with hand, gripping, seeing objects at a distance, seeing objects peripherally, distinguishing colors, seeing close work (e.g., typed print), hearing conversations or sounds, hearing via radio or telephone, communicating through speech, and communicating by writing/reading. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher and/or school administrator, the substitute instructional assistant supports the implementation of instructional activities and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), assists with student supervision, and provides personal care or ph ysical assistance as required by student needs.
