Preferred/Desired Qualifications: The department is particularly interested in candidates with one or more of the following qualifications: Expertise in areas aligned with future directions of the profession, such as earthquake engineering, seismic design, resilient infrastructure, mass timber, sustainable and low-carbon materials, structural health monitoring, advanced construction technologies, computational modeling, or emerging applications of artificial intelligence and data-driven engineering in the built environment. Faculty actively support student organizations and competition teams, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Concrete Canoe, Steel Bridge, and Timber-Strong teams, Earthquake Engineering Research Institute’s Seismic Design Competition (EERI SDC), and Structural Engineers Association (SEA) student activities.
