The incumbent operates and maintains a variety of woodworking equipment, power tools, construction equipment, and University vehicles; performs routine safety inspections and maintenance of shop equipment; assists in maintaining shop inventory; and responds to emergency repairs, preventative maintenance programs, and campus service requests. The Carpenter performs rough and finish carpentry for remodeling, tenant improvements, emergency repairs, and new construction projects; fabricates and installs custom woodwork, millwork, cabinetry, shelving, seismic bracing, and other specialty building components; analyzes building envelopes to identify water intrusion and structural deficiencies; and recommends and implements appropriate repair solutions.
