This position is responsible for: Assists store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items; operates and maintains a cash register; responds to customer's questions; maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store displays; ensures the security of store items and the cash register. Prepares and balances the cash drawer and runs routine register print-outs; prepares and delivers bank deposits; ensures the security and accountability of all cash register funds and sales records in accordance with established operating procedures.

<h5>Store Clerk & Sorter </h5>AOK-Conway Thrift - Conway, AR 72032 Category Store <h5>About This Opportunity </h5>Schedule/Hours: Tuesday – Saturday (29 hours per week) Pay Range $ 10.10 - 12.63 per hour This position is responsible for: Assists store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items; operates and maintains a cash register; responds to customer's questions; maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store displays; ensures the security of store items and the cash register. Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Receives, sorts, prices and prepares donated items for display in the store; determines suitability and pricing of items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area. </li><li>Assists customers purchasing items from The Salvation Army by ringing-up sales utilizing a cash register; collects monies, counts change and prepares receipts; prepares and packages purchased items. </li><li>Prepares and balances the cash drawer and runs routine register print-outs; prepares and delivers bank deposits; ensures the security and accountability of all cash register funds and sales records in accordance with established operating procedures. </li></ul>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language. Ability to perform mathematical computations and count change. Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting. Physical ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light objects (less than 25 pounds) Moderate mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and waling on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Ability to operate a cash register. Work is performed in a normal store environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather. Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
