PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Leadership & Management Skills & ResponsibilitiesOversees all aspects of the marketing department including, but not limited to, annual strategy development, budget preparation, goal-setting and timeline managementLeads ABM campaign development and execution in collaboration with the sales team to accomplish sales and revenue goalsSucceeds in "telling the stories" - capturing and effectively marketing the experiential aspect of tournaments, events and activitiesDevelops impactful industry relationships with tourism offices and media contacts to position the venue as a national sports destinationUtilize cross-marketing to motivate coaches and team representatives to purchase/utilize all available amenities and programsMeets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; assisting in preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actionsAccomplishes objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plansImproves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging; coordinating new product developmentSustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunitiesMaintain CRM system to maintain efficient tracking and record-keeping and to effectively market to teams throughout the countryTactical Skills & ResponsibilitiesDeveloping digital and print contentManages updates to the company(s) website(s), writes and distributes press releases, and managing social media accountsManages facility presence with industry publications, trade shows, and associationsPrepares and presenting regular reporting on marketing and business development strategy and resultsMaintains business accounts on a variety of social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. and create on-campus social media campaignsConduct interviews with players, coaches, and spectators to promote facility experiencesOversees all aspects of the photography department, preparation, staff training, equipment use and care, quality of product (photo galleries) provided to customers and excellent customer serviceRepresents the venue at various national, regional and local trade shows, job fairs, community meetings, governmental meetings, etc. Participates in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsCollaborates with Company's in-house marketing agency to organize and execute marketing initiativesExhibits the values and principles of Company including accountability, collaboration, excellence and serviceAll other duties as assigned by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or advertising; or a minimum of 5+ years' experience in a similar positionExperience managing a marketing and/or business development budget; identifying and creating opportunities or promotions to deliver revenue goalsMeasures and reports marketing/advertising campaign analytics to ultimately measure ROI, efficiency, and effectiveness of campaign activityManages marketing research to gain consumer insights (locally, regionally, and nationally) to identify key selling points for attracting corporate/organization relationships including sponsorship and financial partnerships, or business development activitiesManagement of corporate website(s) in the WordPress platform, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointUses multiple platforms or software for a variety of tasks such as cloud file management or project managementDevelops content and write with company voice in mindEntry level or beginner knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically in InDesign and IllustratorExcellent interpersonal, problem solving, verbal, and communication skillsMust be a team player, deadline-driven, and available to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays and long hours)Have local and regional knowledge is preferredWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Due to the nature of the sports facility, the Marketing & Business Development Director may be expected to work varied hours including holidays and weekendsMust be able to lift 40 pounds to waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time both indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bendMust be able to work in varying weather conditionsWill be required to operate a computerFacility has intermittent noise.
