The responsibilities of the Structural Engineer position include, but are not limited to: Conceptual, preliminary and detailed final design of new bridges and other transportation structures; Analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges; Use of computer software for the analysis and design of bridges and other structures; Preparation and/or quality review checking of technical reports, design calculations, and structural plans; Preparation and/or quality review checking of technical specifications and construction cost estimates; Working both independently and with groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists toward the development of structural design documents and contract deliverables; Following of QA/QC procedures to ensure the technical quality of deliverables, and assisting with responses to client's comments on structural design elements of the deliverables.
