Manage and assist PEIMS personnel with the collection and verification of all elementary Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High school diploma or GEDBachelor Degree PreferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and do word processingStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain accurate and auditable recordsAbility to analyze, problem solve, and meet established deadlinesProficient keyboarding, and file maintenance skillsKnowledge of PEIMS preferredExperience:Two years of experience in a support position requiring collecting and entering data; experience using coding systems preferred.Major Responsibilities and Duties:<ol><li>Support the PEIMS Coordinator in the collection, verification, and submission of PEIMS, OCR, and TSDS Core Collection data according to required data standards.</li><li>Manage and support the collection of attendance data and assist in supporting the Student information system.</li><li>Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.</li><li>Manage the preparation and printing of reports, including attendance reports, grades, class or personnel rosters, end-of-semester reports, or accounting reports.</li><li>Manage and assist in training campus staff on attendance procedures and letters.</li><li>Manage the support of the elementary scheduling processes including Master Schedule and elementary student scheduling.</li><li>Create and maintain the Attendance Procedure Manual for the district.</li><li>Work cooperatively with Special Education and the elementary campuses to collect and format PK and EE data for the PEIMS submission.</li><li>Manage and assign Unique IDs in the Texas Student Data System for students.</li><li>Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.</li><li>Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.</li><li>Attend conferences and workshops to remain current on state and federal reporting and software issues.</li><li>Comply with court orders to fulfill subpoena requests.</li><li>Manage the additions, removals, and changes to staff assignments in the SIS.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality.</li></ol>Supervisory Responsibilities:Evaluate the Student Data Clerk and the Student Data SpecialistMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stoopingMotion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide and statewide travelMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress This document describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.Midway Independent School District does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, military status or on any other basis prohibited by law.
