The Medication Nurse provides complete supervision of the medications room and/or cart, maintains a current account of all medications residents are taking, and completes all documentation required of the company’s Medication policy. </p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Perform nursing duties as directed and in accordance with the appropriate scope of the Nurse Practice Act, including administering medications and performing treatments as ordered by a physician. The Medication Nurse is responsible for administering injections, suppositories, enemas, and medications associated with wound care in addition to medications usually assigned to a Medication Technician.</li><li>Perform nursing duties associated with the Wellness Nurse role as assigned.</li><li>Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician. </li><li>Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.</li><li>Prepare medication for distribution to residents as per company policy.</li><li>Assist residents with taking their prescribed medications.</li><li>Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed. Document any instance where prescribed medication is not administered, including reason(s) for refusal, and notify the supervisor.</li><li>Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records according to company policy. Ensure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician’s orders, and dosage changes. </li><li>Keep medicine rooms and carts orderly, clean, and appropriately stocked. Maintain an inventory of all department supplies and re-order as needed. </li><li>Control medication room/cart access at all times. </li><li>Monitor Psychotropic medication use is congruent with physician’s orders and ensures resident behaviors warrant the use of medication. </li><li>Participate in and complete narcotic count at the beginning and end of each shift. Edah is an Afterschool program for children in grades TK-5, where children engage in authentic, meaningful, integrative, Jewish learning experiences, and learn to speak, understand, read, and write modern Hebrew.

<h2>ABOUT THE JCC EAST BAY</h2><p>The JCC East Bay values hachnasat orchim (providing a welcoming home) for people of all ages and life stages. Inspired by Jewish values, culture, and tradition, we build relationships, foster learning, and offer accessible pathways to Jewish life through programs for children, teens, families, adults, and older adults. After decades of operating our suite of programs in North Berkeley, we will be opening a new home for East Bay Jewish life in the summer of 2026 in Oakland. Our new campus will offer programs and activities to spark creativity, nurture identity, and weave together diverse generations, cultures, and organizations—including voices from across global Jewry—into a living tapestry of culture, learning, and kehilla (community) connections. Our future flagship campus in the Rockridge neighborhood will house our administrative offices and our award-winning preschool opening in the fall of 2026, and we will retain afterschool programs in Berkeley and in several Oakland public schools.</p><h2>ABOUT EDAH</h2><p>Edah is an Afterschool program for children in grades TK-5, where children engage in authentic, meaningful, integrative, Jewish learning experiences, and learn to speak, understand, read, and write modern Hebrew. An emphasis on experiential education, and knowing our learners, allows us to respond to their individual interests and needs. Edah operates through the school year from Monday through Friday, and program hours are from 1:30pm - 5:30pm, excluding full Jewish holidays.</p><h2>POSITION SUMMARY</h2><p>The Judaics and Hebrew Educator will be responsible for implementing the Edah Judaics curriculum with a group of 4th and 5th graders, and the Edah Hebrew curriculum, teaching contemporary Israeli Hebrew using modern-language teaching techniques that emphasize functional language.</p><p>Edah educators must be able to create a positive educational climate where students can learn and grow, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. The Judaics and Hebrew Educator is a position available as either part-time or full-time. If pursued as a full-time, year-round position, it will combine teaching responsibilities with an Administrative Assistant role. Full-time, combined roles are classified as exempt positions, whereas part-time positions are classified as non-exempt. For part-time hires, there is a future opportunity to transition into the full-time role.</p><h3>Classroom Teaching</h3><ul><li>Supervise children, including planning, preparation and implementation of experiential Jewish programming for children in the Moadon K (4th and 5th grade) classroom.</li><li>Support 4th and 5th graders in developing leadership roles within the program.</li><li>Work with the Director of Edah to develop and implement Judaics lesson plans, and with the Dean of Hebrew to develop and implement Hebrew lesson plans, in line with Edah’s educational goals, in an age-appropriate way.</li><li>Ability to lead and supervise children in a variety of activities, both structured and unstructured.</li><li>Contribute to continual development of the Edah program and curriculum.</li></ul><h3>Classroom Safety</h3><ul><li>Establish and maintain a well-organized, safe, and healthy environment for children.</li><li>Maintain appropriate staff to child ratios for supervising children at all times.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness of the classroom: wash dishes, wipe counters, put things away etc.</li></ul><h3>Student Support</h3><ul><li>Mindful and aware of children’s needs to promote growth and foster curiosity.</li><li>Manage student behavior through building supportive classrooms, and building positive relationships.
