Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their resource needs. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play. Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress. Enforce administration policies and rules governing students. Provide feedback for student improvement on assigned class work and homework. Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems. Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage. Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress. Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools. Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning following approved curricula. Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration. Organize and label materials and display students' work. Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers. Select, store, order, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies. Perform other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position. Working from proven English-language course templates, the Course Developer leads the adaptation and translation of curriculum into Spanish, coordinates resource sourcing, and collaborates closely with faculty consultants, instructional designers, and departmental stakeholders to ensure academic rigor and programmatic consistency. This position is hired per course and paid incrementally upon successful completion of milestones. Note: The Course Developer may also serve as the Course Instructor, though these are distinct roles that may be filled by different individuals. Note: Building Puentes is currently looking for Course Developers for the following fields: Early Childhood Education and Construction Management. Required Qualifications <ul><li>Native or near-native Spanish proficiency (written and spoken), sufficient to develop and deliver college-level academic content in Spanish. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, language studies, the subject area of the course being developed, or a closely related discipline). </li><li>Familiarity with online learning environments and asynchronous course delivery platforms (e.g., Canvas or equivalent LMS). </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively within a structured team environment, including faculty, instructional designers, and program administrators. </li><li>Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to meet development timelines and milestones. </li><li>Excellent written communication skills in both Spanish and English. </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, including education, instructional design, linguistics, or the subject discipline of the course. </li><li>Prior experience teaching or developing college-level courses in Spanish. </li><li>Experience working with multilingual, native language, or Spanish-dominant student populations in higher education. </li><li>Background in instructional design principles, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL), student engagement strategies, or online pedagogy. </li><li>Experience collaborating with faculty subject-matter experts or serving in a curriculum coordination role. </li><li>Knowledge of or experience with the specific content area of the course(s) being developed. </li><li>Bilingual professional experience in academic or educational settings. </li></ul> Background Check?
