Our Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program offers a hands-on, immersive experience in emergency medicine alongside our credentialed emergency veterinary technicians.You won't just observe—you'll engage. You will be responsible for keeping our property running smoothly — from completing work orders and unit turns to maintaining common areas and supporting residents with a service-first mindset. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and critical to the overall success of the property.  Responsibilities<ul><li>Complete all routine service/work orders within 24 hours, prioritizing resident satisfaction at every touchpoint</li><li>Perform daily common area walkthroughs and ensure grounds, breezeways, and shared spaces meet cleanliness standards before 9am</li><li>Execute unit make-readies per the turn schedule — including vendor lock installation, unit punch, and turnkey checklist completion</li><li>Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor on daily assignments, work order priorities, and any outstanding maintenance concerns</li><li>Support pool maintenance by logging and maintaining chemical levels in accordance with local code</li><li>Maintain MSDS/OSHA/EPA logs and ensure the maintenance shop is organized and compliant at all times</li><li>Conduct quarterly unit inspections including filter replacements and mold checks</li><li>Perform monthly preventative maintenance tasks including car checks, breezeway inspections, and safety/trip hazard walkthroughs</li><li>Attend monthly safety meetings and stay current on safety regulations and compliance requirements</li><li>Track and report supply and equipment needs to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly</li><li>Provide on-call coverage during non-business hours on a rotating basis</li><li>Support move-in and move-out operations, including vendor coordination and unit punch during turn season</li><li>Turn Season: University Partners properties experience a high-volume move-in/move-out season each summer.
