Key Responsibilities: * Supports the development, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data pipelines and processes * Assists with development of automated hardware and software test procedures * Assists with assembly, test, and validation of electrical hardware * Creates and maintains documentation * Collaborates with hardware and software engineers on ongoing projects, actively participating in team meetings and contributes to assigned tasks * Supports testing, debugging, and issue resolution for hardware and software, documenting problems, and applying fixes * Proactively engages in learning new tools, technologies, and concepts to develop technical skills and contribute effectively Required Qualifications: * Must be a Utah State University student pursuing a degree/certification in electrical engineering, computer engineering,computer science, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years remaining in school * Candidates should have some familiarity in one or more of the following: reading and understandingelectronic schematics, hardware and software test and troubleshooting procedures, computer networking, working with and programming FPGAs, and programming in Python, C, C++, and/or JavaScript * Must be able to work effectively; both independently and as a team member * Good communications skills, both written and verbal are essential * Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summers * The successful candidate must be able to obtain a DoW security clearance; eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship Student Scholar Program: SDL provides unique opportunities for student employees to develop real-world experience and knowledge beyond the classroom through our Student Scholar Program.
