Your next giant leap starts here. </div><br/><h3>Responsibilities</h3><br/><ul><li>Manage the front desk operations of the Boilermaker Station Welcome Center, during open hours Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., to include welcoming and assisting guests, keeping the space clean, stocking supplies, and tracking visitor numbers and notes. </li><li>Sell memberships in PASE, the Purdue Alumni Student Experience, and Purdue Alumni Association. </li><li>Pass out PASE kits and jackets to new student members. </li><li>Promote engagement and event opportunities within the Purdue for Life Foundation. </li><li>Help staff and set up events hosted out of the Boilermaker Station Welcome Center. </li><li>Work with our Admissions team to welcome potential Purdue students and families for tours. </li><li>Keep reliable notes on significant conversations help with Purdue alumni, families, and/or business leaders. </li><li>Attend 3-4 trainings to develop career and professional skills.</li></ul><div><strong>Marketing & Events</strong></div><ul><li>Assist with setting up and staffing for events for alumni, families, and friends. </li><li>Manage and set up the shadow box displays to promote the Purdue for Life Foundation. </li><li>Help with other Purdue for Life Foundation and PASE events as needed. </li></ul><div><strong>Supply & Logistics </strong></div><ul><li>Ensure the space has the necessary materials to function such as cleaning supplies, office supplies, event materials, university and community informational sheets, and give away items.</li><li>Keep track of our technology usage in the space to ensure systems are functioning. </li><li>Ensure the staff are aware of any shortage of supplies or malfunctioning of equipment. </li></ul><div><strong>Other</strong></div><ul><li>Provide tours to alumni and friends. </li><li>Assist with data entry to include updating contact information and keeping notes on important conversations with alumni and other constituents. </li><li>Work occasional evening and weekend events</li><li><strong>Must be available during Boiler Gold Rush</strong></li></ul><br/><h3>Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities</h3><br/><ul><li>Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint preferred.</li><li>Proficiency in social media platforms.</li><li>Creative in new technologies and platforms.</li><li>Event planning experience preferred.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to keep information confidential required.</li><li>Must have the ability to stay organized, take the initiative to solve problems and handle multiple and varied tasks while meeting deadlines.</li><li>Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.</li><li>Adaptable work style and comfortable with change</li><li>Time management, scheduling other people and coordinating locations for events as well as vendors for events.</li></ul><br/><h3>Required Education, Experience and Benefits Summary</h3><br/><ul><li>Must be a current Purdue University student</li><li>Experience working with people, managing organizations, planning events and working in a fast-paced, evolving environment preferred.</li><li>Must be available to work 20-25 hours a week from May 25th through August 21st </li></ul><div><strong>Job Level: Student Worker<br/></strong> <br/> *Purdue For Life Foundation job levels and compensation ranges are independent of, and differ from, those of Purdue University. <br/><br/><strong>Benefits Summary for eligible employees:</strong></div><ul><li>10 paid holidays per year.</li><li>Accrue up to 22 vacation days a year.</li><li>Traditional pre-tax 403(b) and Roth retirement plans available.</li><li>10% employer contribution to your retirement plan and immediate vesting.</li><li>Health Savings Account- earn up to $700 annually towards medical expenses.</li><li>Employer funded Preventative Dental and Vision insurance. </li><li>Tuition discounts on eligible programs at Purdue University and Purdue Global for qualified employees, spouses, and dependents.</li></ul>
