What You'll Do:
We are currently seeking a Quality Engineering Student to work part-time at our facility in Sparta, TN.   As the Quality Engineering Student, you’ll take ownership of real engineering challenges, including: Process Integration<ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li>Work with process owners to build an onboarding guide that helps new employees understand how each production step connects and how quality is built into each stage.</li><li>Collect feedback from operators and supervisors to refine and improve documentation.</li><li>Maintain job instructions and training assessments in our digital database.</li></ul>Data Analytics & Problem Solving<ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li>Investigate customer returns to spot patterns, identify root causes, and recommend improvements.</li><li>Analyze internal scrap trends to help prevent defects before they reach the customer.</li><li>Partner with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement across the facility.</li></ul>Quality Metrics & Testing<ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li>Support color analysis using measurement software and help evaluate color tolerances for apparel products.</li><li>Perform incoming material tests in the quality lab—such as wash testing, abrasion resistance, and other validation methods.</li><li>Review or update placement standards and guides for new products and processes.</li><li>Diagnose quality concerns in both stock and sublimation products and contribute to corrective action solutions.</li></ul>What You’ll Gain<ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li>Real engineering experience you can talk about in interviews</li><li>Hands‑on exposure to data analytics, process improvement, and manufacturing problem‑solving</li><li>Cross‑department collaboration (Quality, Manufacturing, Lean, Engineering)</li><li>Opportunities to own projects from investigation to implementation</li><li>A chance to make a measurable impact on product quality and customer satisfaction</li></ul>

What We're Looking For :
The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in an Engineering discipline and in good standing with the university.  Other technical / critical thinking degrees will be considered.   Other qualifications include: <ul><li>Current enrolled student in an Engineering discipline and in good standing with the university.  Other technical / critical thinking degrees will be considered. </li><li>Ability to organize and prioritize tasks </li><li>Familiarity with computer technology. Prior use of Excel, Outlook, and Teams is a plus. </li><li>Ability to read a tape measure to 1/8th inch </li><li>Creative Thinking and Problem Solving: analyzing information and evaluating results using logic to choose the best solutions. </li><li>Motivated and Professional: Committed to improving problem solving and interpersonal skills </li><li>Able to work well with others and function as a member of a cross functional team </li><li>Openness to constructive feedback and coaching </li><li>Attention to detail: Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. </li><li>Current enrolled student in an Engineering discipline and in good standing with the university.  Other technical / critical thinking degrees will be considered. </li></ul><div> </div><div>Perks:</div><div>The starting pay for this role is $17/hour at the time of this posting.  </div><ul><li>Educational assistance – work part-time and earn up to $4,500 per year to pay for your tuition (eligibility defined by Company Policy)</li><li>Paid company holidays (according to Company Policy)</li><li>Flexible scheduling options</li><li>Discounts on Wilson and Amer Sports products</li></ul> Amer Sports is an equal opportunity employer.
