## Job Description {#job-description tabindex="0"} ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ::: {tabindex="0"} PRIMARY PURPOSE: Manages student learning in accordance with the goals and directives of the school and theDistrict QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification: Currently enrolled in Amarillo College w/ 30 credit hours minimum Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of assigned curriculum; knowledge of instructional methods Lesson planning skills Lesson presentation skills Conflict resolution skills Classroom management skills Group interaction skills Technology skills preferred Work Conditions: Tools/Equipment Used:Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Posture:Prolonged sitting and standing; bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion:Repetitive hand motions including keyboarding; reaching Lifting:Lifting and carrying (less than 50 pounds) Environment:Must be able to work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional demeanor under stress; must be able to work flexible hours including summer and evening work; must wear professional attire MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information. 2. Maintain a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school and county policies. 3. Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students. 4. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. 5. Report to office upon arrival at school; checks mailbox of absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention; requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary. 6. Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible. 7. Implement lesson plans while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate. 8. Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building. 9. Collect and place students papers . 10. Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to proper place. 11. Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies. 12. Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities. 13. Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school/division policies and practices. 14. Participate in AISD Substitute Teacher staff development. 15. ::: {tabindex="0"} THIS POSITION IS LIMITED TO CURRENT AISD JUNIORS AND SENIORS PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist with leadership of elementary student groups in order to improve academic achievement for students. This position is supplemental to locally funded positions. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification: Junior or Senior status in an AISD high school is required. Proficiency in math, reading, and writing is required. Enrollment in a work-based learning course is preferred. The ability to work effectively and harmoniously with students and school personnel is essential. Special Knowledge/Skills: The ability to follow written and/or oral directions and to exercise good judgment are required. Physical/Mental Abilities Have the ability to lift 50-75 pounds. Possess acute and/or corrected visual and hearing capabilities. Possess the manual dexterity and physical capabilities to perform all job requirements. Utilize effective verbal and written communications skills as well as a high degree of literacy and higher order thinking skills. Possess good mental health in order to perform all job requirements. Be average or better in energy, health, and vitality. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job. Minimum Experience: The experience of having worked with school age students is preferred.
