This position is based in the Department of Neuroscience within the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas - bbs.utdallas.edu), with strong collaborative ties to the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW).

p>Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) coordinating research staff and lab activities (participant recruitment and screening, data collection, data entry on databases, updating records and notebooks, and data analysis), assistance with IRB protocols, literature search, evaluate and interpret research data for data presentation to principal investigator and other researchers.

Leads institutional efforts related to research security, export control compliance, and evolving federal requirements including NSPM-33, CHIPS and Science Act requirements, EAR (Export Administration Regulations), ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), CUI (Confidential Unclassified Information), OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control), and sponsor disclosure obligations. This position oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance programs supporting human subjects research, animal care and use, biosafety, export controls, research security, conflict of interest, research misconduct, responsible conduct of research, and related regulatory and ethical research obligations.

p>Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following areas: Complete routine post-approval monitoring visits/audits for research studies; Implement Quality Improvement Initiatives; Monitor implemented corrective action plans for human subjects research, provide reports on effectiveness and/or suggest necessary changes; Complete monitoring and reporting activities for various quality improvement projects within the department (for IACUC, IRB, RCOI, ORSIC), identifying trends and areas for improvement; Assist with accreditation efforts for both the animal care and use program (AAALAC) and the human research program (AAHRPP); Work closely with the ORC AVP on training, outreach, and communications to facilitate regulatory compliance, foster a culture of research integrity, promote responsible conduct of research initiatives, and provide regulatory expertise & guidance to support the HSC and NTR IRB research communities. The ORC works with offices responsible for specific components of research compliance and university research oversight committees such as the Institutional Review Board, Institutional Biosafety, Institutional Animal Care and Use, Research Conflict of Interest committees and the Export Control/Research Security/International Compliance Office to ensure the responsible conduct of research and compliance with university policies and federal regulations related to research activity.

Primary Purpose: Analyze and support district PEIMS data systems and reporting processes by applying TEA rules and guidelines, ensuring data integrity through validation of data collection and reporting outputs, and developing training and expert guidance to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant submission of student data. Lead the analysis and validation processes for district-wide Six Weeks Reports, collaborating with campus leadership and executive directors to ensure data accuracy prior to finalization.

Run participants through the HD-sEMG-EEG protocol and acquire, process, and analyze high-density surface electromyography (HD-sEMG) and electroencephalography (EEG) data, including motor unit decomposition and corticomuscular coherence analyses to characterize perilaryngeal motor control and central-peripheral neural mechanisms in hyperfunctional voice disorders. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to active NIH-funded research programs focused on the use of motion capture technology to investigate perilaryngeal-respiratory kinematic patterns and coordinative relationships in individuals with and without functional voice disorders, including primary muscle tension dysphonia.
