We are looking to add a Transportation Project Manager (PE) to our Des Moines team who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities! As a Transportation Project Manager for our Iowa market, you will progress your career to the next level by leading design teams in addition to assisting with team development and business development responsibilities. This role will include hybrid work flexibility with the opportunity to work out of our Des Moines office. What You Will Be Doing:<ul><li>Cultivate client relationships in dynamic markets for transportation projects to position for growth of our business in the Iowa market. </li><li>Utilize your expertise and project management skills on transportation project design and delivery, including roadway, drainage, traffic, and preservation design for CDOT, Counties, and Cities </li><li>Work with contractors and owners to develop innovative approaches to construction staging. </li><li>Lead junior staff and promote the growth of their technical skills. </li><li> </li></ul>What We Are Looking For:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or transportation engineering from an accredited college or university </li><li>Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Iowa </li><li>8+ years of highway design experience </li><li>Proven understanding of DOT design standards (IowaDOT preferred) and AASHTO "Green" Book </li><li>Experience managing and mentoring staff </li><li>Experience with project management, proposal development, and business development </li><li>Strong working technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices is required </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment is essential </li><li>Strong active listening and team building skills </li><li>Possess valid driver's license </li><li> </li></ul>Bolton & Menk will currently not be providing visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Job Summary:<ul><li>Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment to facilitate the loading and unloading operations in the yard</li><li>Properly cube, load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand</li><li>Strap, brace and secure freight to prevent damage or shifting</li><li>Responsible for accurately recording the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center</li><li>Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the yard and dock equipment</li><li>Accurately set up, break down and hook trailers safely</li><li>Ensure all pup trailers have tilt bar to be lowered prior to loading of freight</li><li>Raise and lower landing gear</li><li>Monitor yard for unsafe drivers and non-employees; report to management</li><li>Work in outdoor weather conditions</li><li>Promptly report all maintenance problems to Fleet Services and/or supervision</li><li>Work the dock a minimum of five hours per week in addition to work in the yard as a jockey/hostler</li><li>Scan the Kronos clock and indicate dock versus jockey time for tracking purposes</li><li>Regular attendance is required.</li><li>This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background</li><li>Must be able to handle the duties assigned for the driver trainee program</li><li>Must be 21 years of age required per FMCSA regulations</li><li>Must have an outstanding performance record with Estes (not limited to, but in no instance should there be a final written warning within the previous 90 day period or show a pattern or progression of continued disciplinary action)</li><li>Must have and maintain an acceptable MVR.
