As a Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs of program participants and connecting with the youth during the process. Excellent time management skills, ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs while maintaining focus on participant connection and interaction.

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team to transport Kauai's youth, aged between 5 and 18 years old, from their schools to the Keala Foundation's after-school programs. This role requires strong driving skills, excellent interpersonal communication, the ability to navigate various routes effectively and flexibility to adapt to changes in traffic, weather and attendance. As a Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs of program participants and connecting with the youth during the process.Responsibilities<ul><li>Operate a 15 passenger van to pick up youth from their respective schools and drop them off at designated locations Monday thru Thursday, ensuring to arrive at destinations on schedule</li><li>Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays</li><li>Use navigation applications to determine the best route(s)</li><li>Interact with youth participants professionally at all times</li><li>Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use</li><li>Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed with Supervisors</li><li>Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date</li></ul>Skills & Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience as a Driver, with a strong understanding of route driving</li><li>Familiarity with driving regulations and safety practices</li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to connect effectively with youth</li><li>Excellent time management skills, ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs while maintaining focus on participant connection and interaction</li><li>Ideal candidates will have an understanding of or personal experience with substance abuse recovery, such as the 12-steps</li><li>A valid Hawaii driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record</li><li>Ability to pass a background check & drug test</li></ul>Work Schedule<ul><li>Part-time position with scheduled 10-20 hours per week</li><li>Mondays through Thursdays, 1PM-6PM (while school is in session); hours will shift during summer months</li></ul>Join our team today and contribute to our commitment to positively impacting the youth of Kauai and turning the tide of substance abuse!
