D. in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline Currently at junior level or above Must be able to work for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and onsite at our Santa Cruz, CA facility Experience or course work in any of the following; Mechanical or Aerospace Design, Electro-Mechanical Systems, Thermal Systems, Electrical/Power Engineering, or Machine Control (PLCs, robotics) Knowledge of design practices, materials, and basic analysis with relevant coursework Desired Prior relevant intern or co-op experience Project work, or hobbies, showing some hands-on attitude and creativity, and application of engineering knowledge. Responsibilities Collaborate with Test Engineers in test preparation, execution, and reporting on various sub-system test venues Work with Test Engineers in designing, assembling and preparing test rigs for execution Design and analyze mechanical test and support equipment under the supervision of a team peer using CAD based tools (if relevant to education background) Design and analyze electrical/electronic test and support equipment under the supervision of a team peer using computer-based tools such as Altium (if relevant to education background) Generate engineering drawings and support equipment fabrication.
