Meets the specific needs of the attending surgeon and maintains the technical skills necessary to handle a broad range of procedures including but not limited to colorectal (including robotic cases), breast, plastic (including microvascular cases), orthopedic, gynecologic (including robotic cases), head & neck, thoracic (including robotic cases) and urologic (including robotic cases) services. · Performs first assistant duties in the OR and/or clinic with complete knowledge of the disease process and whole patient care scenario, including, but not limited to positioning, preparation and draping of the patient; tissue manipulation; utilization of tying and suturing materials; drain/tube insertion; deep and superficial wound closure; application of internal devices and any other autonomous duties or procedures delegated by the supervising surgeon.
