The General Internal Medicine Physician will have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose and treat diseases/injuries to include but not limited to; Cardiovascular diseases (congestive heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, acute myocardial infarction), respiratory diseases (asthma, bronchitis, pulmonary thromboembolism, pulmonary insufficiency & adult respiratory distress syndrome), gastrointestinal diseases (peptic ulcer, gastritis, pancreatitis, cirrhosis & alcoholic liver), endocrinology (disease of the thyroid & diabetes mellitus), rheumatology (sarcoidosis, degenerative joint disease), renal disease (acute renal failure, urinary tract infection), neurology (epilepsy & cerebrovascular disease) and infectious diseases (infectious diarrheas, bacterial infections, hospital-acquired infections, tuberculosis, infections of the compromised host & other micro-bacterial infections). Qualifications: Degree/Education: Must be a graduate of: an accredited medical school and completed an Accreditation Council for Medical Education (ACGME), Accredited Internal Medicine residency, OR an accredited osteopathic medicine school and completed an American Osteopathic Association (AOA)/American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM).
