Suite in order to ensure a safe patient environment· Cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets, metal ware, rubber goods and synthetic products· Operates ultrasonic unit as needed· Care of all used and unused supplies· Assists and maintains awareness of safety hazards· Recognizes and reports defective equipment to be repaired· Maintains traffic control through use of proper areas and corridors at all times.· Aware of controls to prevent contamination, maintains cleanliness of operating room tables, suction bottles, shelves, cabinets, overhead lights before and after surgery· Prevents infection, by maintaining constant awareness and application of principles of aseptic technique, including special routine for specific cases· Evaluates self objectively· Demonstrates a variety of communication skills needed for this position.
