Position SummaryThompson Engineering is seeking qualified CEI Inspectors to support construction projects throughout the Alabama area. This role is responsible for inspecting construction activities and documenting project progress to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable standards. The CEI Inspector works closely with contractors, the Senior Inspector, and the Project Manager to support successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Inspect construction work in progress to verify conformance with project plans, specifications, and standards.</li><li>Inspect completed installations to ensure quality workmanship and compliance.</li><li>Prepare and maintain accurate daily inspection reports, including labor, equipment, work performed, and relevant communications with contractors.</li><li>Conduct material inspections and testing for incorporation into the project.</li><li>Prepare sketches and documentation for construction elements that deviate from original plans and assist with updating master plans.</li><li>Assist with office-related tasks, including plotting cross-sections and calculating earthwork quantities.</li><li>Safely operate a company vehicle to and from project sites.</li><li>Comply with Thompson Holdings, Inc. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management System, including all safety policies, procedures, and job safety analyses.</li><li>Actively participate in monthly safety meetings, project toolbox talks, and safety moments.</li><li>Maintain regular, punctual attendance.</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned.</li><li>Some travel will be required to support projects as needed</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>Valid driver's license</li><li>Intermediate math and geometry skills (e.g., calculating area and volume)</li><li>Willingness to travel on a as needed basis</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions up to 100% of the time</li><li>Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds</li><li>Ability to stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day</li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work on uneven terrain</li><li>Ability to walk, stand, and balance on pavements, concrete, grass, dirt, and gravel</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing</li><li>Ability to safely drive a company vehicle to and from work sites</li></ul>About Thompson EngineeringFounded in 1953, Thompson Engineering provides quality assurance services for construction projects supporting industrial, infrastructure, and community development.
