As our Peer Counselor Program Coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate breastfeeding peer counselor programs for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), designed to promote maternal and infant nutrition literacy, breastfeeding education and support, and individual and community wellness, working directly with pregnant and breastfeeding mothers in the WIC community. Every day you will collaborate with community partners and external organizations to coordinate breastfeeding promotion events and programs, oversee the work of WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors, and serve as a liaison between WIC participants, healthcare providers, and other support agencies, developing strategies and resources in conjunction with community agencies, high schools, and groups in accordance with grant provisions.
