The Technical Writer is expected to work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, technical support, and marketing to develop knowledge in a complete and professional manner.</p><p>This is a hybrid remote position. During the probationary period, the Technical Writer is expected to be in the Jackson, WI office at least 3 days a week, with occasional days in Hartford, WI. Following the probationary period, the Technical Writer is expected to be in one of the locations as needed for job responsibilities.</p><p> </p><ul><li>Create, edit, and update documentation including installation manuals, owner’s manuals, service bulletins, work instructions, and other documentation resources</li><li>Create illustrations including exploded views, parts lists, and cutaway drawings based on engineering drawings and CAD models</li><li>Communicate and coordinate with internal departments to build an in-depth understanding of the products and the documentation requirements</li><li>Produce high quality documentation that meets internal style guide requirements and applicable standards and is appropriate for the intended audience</li><li>Modify and maintain document development and long-term storage architecture</li></ul><p> </p><p>Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10px 0px;border:1px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16px;word-wrap:break-word"><h2 style="font-size:1em;margin:0px"><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>2-5 years of experience in technical writing or equivalent</li><li>Associate's degree (A. A.), Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Knowledge of technical communication standards, practices and style, and advanced writing skills with strong grammar, punctuation, and spelling</li><li>Adobe InDesign experience required</li><li>Adobe Illustrator experience required</li><li>Adobe Photoshop experience required</li><li>Microsoft Office skills required</li><li>High attention to detail and accuracy required</li><li>High level of writing skills with strong grammar, punctuation, and spelling ability</li><li>Hands-on attitude to learning high speed doors, including the ability and willingness to work at height (6-8 feet)</li><li>High level of writing skills with strong grammar, punctuation, and spelling ability.
