Interpersonal Skills: • Excellent written skills are required, as all troubleshooting, modifying, and improving efforts to equipment must be documented • Strong verbal communication skills are required, as other departments must be notified of all changes to equipment • Including initiating the conversation; does not wait to be asked for a status update • Keeps meeting minutes and notes • Demonstrated capability as a self-starter in a hands-on environment • Strong organizational skills are required; including maintaining a neat working environment, both physically (his or her own desk and common areas) and virtually (emails, files, etc.) • Ability to independently manage his or her own schedule is required, in order to plan multiple efforts in parallel • Strong initiative is required, both independently and with others: • Natural curiosity; independently seeks knowledge by tinkering, reviewing available documentation, etc. Technical Skills: • Basic mechanical skills are required • Ability to read an electrical schematic and relate with PCB layout is required • Ability to read and interpret code is required • Ability to troubleshoot electronics is required • IT Proficiency: • Basic computer skills are required • Ability to install and modify software applications and related drivers • Keen understanding of Windows file structure and ability to debug file-related issues • Knowledge of registry, network, domain, and other IT principles is a plus • Strong expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required • Language Skills: • English • French (optional).
