As a behind the chair salon manager&comma; you may work up to 8 hours per week behind the chair with your own clientele&comma; alongside your team. Come see what it means to work with a family at the JCPenney Salon! Primary Responsibilities: <ul><li>Client Experience<ul><li>Leads by example in all interactions with clients&comma; and supports stylists to ensure they can provide an exceptional client experience</li><li>Creates an environment that inspires associates to build client loyalty by providing coaching and feedback to ensure consistent execution of the</li><li>Motivates and engages the team to provide exceptional service through consistent communication&comma; coaching and recognition</li><li>Provides services including but not limited to cut/style&comma; chemical services for all hair types&comma; and performs other hair styling services as required to meet or exceed the client’s expectations in a positive&comma; professional manner</li></ul></li><li>Team Development<ul><li>Proactively recruits qualified stylists to join team through the use of Social Media&comma; targeted Recruiting Websites&comma; Referrals and engaging Stylists at local Salons and Cosmetology Schools</li><li>Provides coaching and feedback that is frequent&comma; balanced&comma; meaningful and improves effectiveness</li><li>Creates opportunities for learning that drive associate success throughout their career</li><li>Ensures stylists complete available training by scheduling Associates for Core and Artistic Education as courses are offered internally</li><li>Inspires loyalty&comma; passion&comma; and growth in the salon by creating an environment that is inclusive&comma; respectful&comma; professional and fun</li></ul></li><li>Business Performance<ul><li>Reviews reports to quickly identify and prioritize areas of opportunity in the salon&comma; determines root cause of the opportunity&comma; and sets direction to achieve productivity – referral – rebooking – return rate and client acquisition standards</li><li>Delivers Salary Cost objectives to achieve profit plan</li></ul></li><li>Merchandising<ul><li>Reviews SET guidance and makes appropriate adjustments based on salon layout while maintaining core standards in Salon</li><li>Actively walks the salon and backbar to identify opportunities related to merchandising&comma; replenishment&comma; and recovery</li><li>Handles or directs salon team to address product related issues that have biggest impact to the client</li><li>Manages backbar expenses to plan</li></ul></li><li>Performance Standards / Programs<ul><li>Consistently meets established performance standards for the role&comma; including (but not limited to) product and service sales&comma; client experience&comma; productivity&comma; and attendance</li><li>Reviews and follows all company programs (including but not limited to) hiring practices and state safety regulations&comma; and accurately advises salon associates on how to address any related issues</li></ul></li><li>Cosmetology License<ul><li>A current cosmetology license is required in the state you are applying.  </li></ul></li></ul> Core Competencies: <ul><li>Prioritizes customers<ul><li>Focuses team efforts on superior customer service and a quality salon client experience&comma; with the goal of rebooking.
