The individual assesses complex specifications and applies knowledge of tool and die design and construction, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout, machining, and assembly procedures to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists'' hand tools.
