In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Garmin importing, exporting and supply chain security activities ensuring full compliance with governmental laws and regulations which includes Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms (ITAR), U. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering AND a minimum of 8 years of experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Senior International Trade Compliance Specialist at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Garmin importing, exporting and supply chain security activities ensuring full compliance with governmental laws and regulations which includes Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms (ITAR), U. S. Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), and Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). This also includes the import and export of products, services, transfer of technical data, and all other import and export licensing and compliance matters.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions<ul><li>Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures compliant with import, export and supply chain security</li><li>Drive process improvements supporting ITC activities</li><li>Develop and prepare detailed project plans from concept to completion and effectively communicate progress to management</li><li>Lead projects on regulatory compliance, system enhancements and suggest potential solutions</li><li>Lead teams on planning and executing projects with little to no direction from management</li><li>Drive regular and periodic compliance reviews and assessments (internal & external) of corporate import, export and supply chain security activities</li><li>Lead ITC initiatives globally</li><li>Lead the development, documentation, and implementation of import, export controls and supply chain security, training globally</li><li>Drive the design of tools and performance reports to provide awareness and measure and the ensure the effectiveness of import, export controls and supply chain security compliance</li><li>Effectively utilize tools and performance reports to provide reports on the effectiveness of import, export controls and supply chain security compliance programs</li><li>Provide oversight on the global DPL screening and tier 2 and 3 denied party list resolutions</li><li>Provide oversight on the import and export classifications, ensuring compliance</li><li>Represent the ITC department in cross functional initiatives</li><li>Lead, organize, and carry out process improvement initiatives / projects</li><li>Lead and organize the ITC team’s day to day activity</li><li>Mentor and train associates</li><li>Attend seminars, meetings and read journals and other industry publication to maintain knowledge of specialized information and identify any regulation or industry changes affecting the company’s business</li></ul>

Qualifications:

The Senior Project Coordinators are a company asset, filling priority orders as assigned, leveraging current FEs with known track records for safety and skill within their assigned market and beyond. Senior Project Coordinators are responsible for following a high-volume, internal recruiting strategy and process. Senior Project Coordinators are responsible for determining when new recruits are needed and will work with the Workforce Coordinators to ensure a qualified pipeline of external candidates and full cycle hiring support. Senior Project Coordinators own the hiring decision, leveraging compelling and engaging virtual interviewing and evaluating techniques. Senior Project Coordinators follow a consistent process to maintain accurate FE records, profiles, and availability to ensure productive fill rates and detailed insight into safety, skill, reliability, and employee interest. Senior Project Coordinators positively impact FE retention by nurturing meaningful employee relationships in a virtual environment, ensuring FE availability is clearly understood and communicated to the sales team. Senior Project Coordinators support the sales process and play a leading role in operational planning to ensure the right FEs are identified, dispatched, and supported on a job-by-job basis. Senior Project Coordinators can be client facing, performing inside sales and client relations as needed. Tool and Die Makers are paid a top hourly base rate of $43.800, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums. The starting rate for this position is $43.600 with pay increases to the top rate upon completion of three consecutive months of employment.
