The Assistant Athletic Trainer collaborates with all members of the Rochester Americans Hockey Department including the performance staff to provide athletic training and rehabilitation services. Reports to and collaborates with Head Athletic Trainer to implement athletic training services and rehabilitation protocols to Rochester Americans players.
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for assuring that all employees receive evidence based musculoskeletal care and injury prevention through providing body mechanics education, coaching, ergonomics and safety information, wellness initiatives, early symptom intervention, line walk throughs, and other onsite support. Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a CAATE (Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education) accredited program and a minimum of 2 years' experience working in an industrial setting or 5 years in a professional setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Under the supervision of a physician, applies principles, methods and procedures for managing athletic injuries, which shall include preconditioning, conditioning and reconditioning of an individual who has suffered an athletic injury through the use of appropriate preventative and supportive devices.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides coverage for home contests on a schedule determined by the hiring organization, the athletic trainer and the athletic director.
