Job Description:

We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a staff position in New London, New Hampshire. This is a full-time opportunity to join an interdisciplinary rehab team, delivering skilled therapy services in an acute care hospital setting.Job Summary<ul><li>Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer Occupational Therapy (OT) treatment modalities as prescribed by a licensed physician.</li><li>Deliver all aspects of patient care in an environment that prioritizes safety and reduces the risk of medical/healthcare errors.</li><li>Provide OT evaluations and treatments in outpatient rehabilitation settings.</li><li>Apply best practices and the latest evidence for common ambulatory clinic pathologies of the upper quadrant (e.g., degenerative conditions, neurologic impairments, orthopedics, post-operative care).</li><li>Proficiently render treatment techniques including, but not limited to: manual therapy, neuro-rehab techniques, exercise modalities, and functional activities to maximize patient function.</li></ul>


Responsibilities:

<ul><li>Administer treatments and occupational agents as prescribed to restore function and prevent disability.</li><li>Assist patients in reaching maximum performance and independence within their capabilities.</li><li>Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness; recommend changes to physician when necessary.</li><li>Perform evaluations, assessments, and re-assessments on patients (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and general populations).</li><li>Assess patient pain and make appropriate physician contact when intervention is required.</li><li>Develop and implement teaching plans for patients and families; evaluate effectiveness of education.</li><li>Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, recognizing psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.</li><li>Operate and manage equipment safely and ensure department cleanliness and safety.</li><li>Communicate clearly with physicians, staff, patients, and families.</li><li>Coordinate and direct patient care to align with hospital policies and patient needs.</li><li>Collaborate with other departments to improve patient care and participate in performance improvement activities.</li></ul>


Requirements:

<ul><li>Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Florida (or compact eligible)</li><li>Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate Degree)</li><li>Minimum of 1 year of recent PTA experience, preferably in acute care or hospital rehab</li><li>Current CPR/BLS certification (as required by facility)</li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills</li></ul>
