Analyzes, interprets, and evaluates information obtained from state records, state agencies, determines legal ownership and proper course of action regarding motor vehicle, mobile home, heavy-duty equipment, large tractor-trailer, and fleet, both county and local dealer, business registrations, titling, and taxation processes, registration, tags, titles, and or disabled placards, verifies accuracy and completeness of documentation, determines taxable value, enters data into state computer systems, issues initial tags and titles, processes renewals, special requests, and requests for prestige plates, cancels tags, file changes of address, correct titles, adds or removes liens, assists commercial drivers and fleet owners with apportionment license plates and taxes according to the international registration plan (IRP) and maintains related documentation and files. Performs cashier duties, calculates various taxes and fees, assesses penalties, receives various forms of payments for taxes, fees, insurance lapses, fines, and other departmental fees or services, records transactions, issues receipts, makes cash drops, balances cash, check, credit, and debit transactions, and secures cash drawer at close of day.
