This is an on-site, hospital-based role supporting members receiving care at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and requires consistent in-person engagement with members, providers, and multidisciplinary care teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and proprietary clinical systems. Efficient computer skills, including navigating multiple systems and keyboarding. Candidate must have reliable transportation and the ability to consistently meet onsite, hospital-based work requirements up to 55-75% of the time at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.Preferred Qualifications3+ years of experience in care management, discharge planning, or home health coordination. ATs will work closely and collaborate with all members of the Sports Medicine team; including but not limited to, physicians, APPs, athletic trainers, physical therapists, etc. to determine that the best plan of care is developed and performed.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation in patient records. Monitor and evaluate response to intervention, modify treatment plan in agreement with physician. Follows billing and reimbursement procedures according to departmental and regulatory guidelines.</li><li>Provide athletic training coverage to summer physicals, wrestling and soccer tournaments (at minimum) annually. ATs will have the opportunity to cover other local races, sporting events, physicals, marketing events, etc. to help promote the program's mission and brand.</li><li>Place orders (XR, PT, US, etc.) under the direction of supervising physician.</li><li>Administer pre- and post-injury neurocognitive concussion examinations.</li><li>Maintain accurate employee timecard records and appropriate work schedule.</li><li>Maintain compliance with required Knowledge Link modules and annual clinical competencies.</li><li>Attend and actively participate in mandatory staff meetings.</li><li>Clinic specific responsibilities (may vary based on position):</li><li><ul><li>Responsible for pre-visit planning (reviewing medical records prior to appointment) and ensuring all pertinent information is available and orders are placed/completed prior to patient’s visit with provider.</li><li>Perform physical examinations on patients and presents findings to provider in concise manner.</li><li>Assist provider with Diagnostic or Procedural Ultrasound, and with injections/procedures as needed.</li><li>Develop prescriptive home exercise programs for patients.</li><li>Provide bracing, splinting, casting, and DME fitting and instruction for patients.</li><li>Assist with management of in-basket and patient phone calls and other administrative tasks as needed.</li><li>Be comfortable prepping and assisting in a sterile procedural environment.</li></ul></li><li>Outreach specific responsibilities (may vary based on position):</li><li><ul><li>Provide immediate and/or urgent care to sports-related injuries. Perform physical examinations of injury or illness and recommend plan of care as appropriate.</li><li>Determines diagnosis of injury and develops an appropriate rehabilitation plan to assist in recovery. Provides instruction of appropriate form for rehabilitation exercises and/or lifting techniques.</li><li>Assist with scheduling and coordination of on-site school physicals.</li><li>Work with athletic director to determine budget; maintains adequate equipment and supply inventory to provide safe and high-quality care to student-athletes.</li><li>Coordinate educational presentations and/or screenings for school community.
